ISDM's mandate is to manage and archive ocean data collected by Fisheries and Oceans Canada, or acquired through national and international programs conducted in ocean areas adjacent to Canada, and to disseminate data, data products, and services to the marine community in accordance with the policies of the Department. The St. Lawrence Global Observatory (SLGO) contributes to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) mandate by providing access and presenting marine science information and results necessary to a better understanding and a well-informed use of the marine environment and coastal zones. The SLGO is an Internet portal dedicated to the exchange, diffusion, and presentation of scientific data and information about the St. Lawrence.
