The Barcode of Life Data Systems (BOLD) is an online workbench that aids collection, management, analysis, and use of DNA barcodes.
- It supports the organization and analysis of barcode data.
- It provides a repository for barcode records, storing specimen data and images as well as sequences and trace files.
- It provides an efficient interface for submitting barcode records to GenBank.
- It provides a species identification engine based on the current barcode library.
- It monitors the number of barcode sequence records and species coverage.
- It provides web developers and bioinformaticians the ability to build tools and workflows that can be integrated with the BOLD framework.
The Biological General Repository for Interaction Datasets (BioGRID) database was developed to house and distribute collections of protein and genetic interactions from major model organism species. BioGRID currently contains over 198 000 interactions from six different species, as derived from both high-throughput studies and conventional focused studies. BioGRID now includes a virtually complete set of interactions for both the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. BioGRID can display interactions based on different attributes.
BIND is a primary biological database, archiving biomolecular interaction, complex and pathway information for all taxonomies. It can be used to discover such things as interaction networks, perform comparative analysis of pathways, and generate information for kinetic simulations.
Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre (GSC), under the auspices of the BC Cancer Agency, is a leading international centre for genomics and bioinformatics research. The GSC creates and serves many scientific databases, data assets and data services:
